Joy in Motion Enter Rockier Era with ‘Wasting Away’

Brisbane/Meanjin alternative rockers Joy in Motion are scaling back to heavier days with their latest single ‘Wasting Away‘.

Featuring a fierce post-chorus breakdown, the song tackles toxicity in the workplace which is something that is all too prominent today. Vocalist Jake Solway shares:

“People who I thought were my friends turned out to be snakes who either contributed to or turned a blind eye to some despicable behaviour shown to me by superiors. I felt like I was wasting away at that job, which inspired this song and a few future tracks too.”

Wasting Away‘ sits nicely next to current US heavy hitters Thousand Below and Point North and is worlds away from the band’s previous EP, Stardust. It also marks the beginning of a new era with the addition of second guitarist, Jackson Lehane.

If you enjoy stadium-worthy drums with grittier guitars and basslines, then we dare you to keep your eyes peeled for what Joy In Motion have planned for the next few months. It’s looking like big waves of movement from this Brissie lot!
