Sydney-based alternative/punk five-piece Bellwether have released their latest single ‘fallingshort‘ and it is honestly their most compelling tune yet.
Luring us in with pop sensibility and electronic-driven verses, the song explores that uneasy, anxious feeling of not feeling good enough. Combined with an explosive guitar-driven chorus, Bellwether’s musical diversity remains wide open and the possibilities are endless.
Guitarist Heath Joukhadar shares:
“’fallingshort’ is a pensive, emotionally driven pop punk track that is musically inspired by the works of electronic artist Porter Robinson, with further inspiration taken from 2000’s era emo pop punk. The song is a reflection on the decisions we wish we would have made in the past and the opportunities we feel have passed us by, while maintaining a determined outlook towards the future.”
If you’ve followed the band since their inception in late 2021, you’ll notice the evolution on their latest track while also hearing similar melodies from their debut EP, Impermanence with ‘Halfway Happy‘.
With ‘fallingshort‘ now under their belt, Bellwether remain a tight unit and are quickly on the way to becoming a leader in Australia’s vast pop punk community.
