Bloom Level Up on ‘You & I’

If you’ve been following Bloom’s story over the past few years, you’ll be somewhat familiar with their melodic-hardcore blend of screams and elements. But are you ready to hear a new side of the band? They’ve just shared new track ‘You & I‘ from their forthcoming debut album, Maybe In Another Life (out 16 February through Pure Noise Records/Greyscale Records).

What catches us off guard with this one is the fact that there are no hardcore elements — in fact, it’s almost as if they’ve taken inspiration from the emo/rock sphere, as we hear the track go down a similar tangent as Movements and Holding Absence. The band explain the inspiration behind ‘You & I‘:

“You & I intends to leave listeners with a sense of both melancholy and optimism, reflecting on the complexities of human relationships and the reality that sometimes we must choose to grow and evolve, even if it means parting ways.”

Through modest yet emotive guitars and melodies, their latest single is a significant step in Bloom’s current chapter. Vocalist Jono Hawkey further explains that this album is a culmination of what the boys have been working towards:

“Maybe in Another Life contains our heaviest moments and most memorable choruses to date, and brandishes the full range of the sound we have been crafting since we began as a group.”

Between ‘Bound To Your Whispers‘ and this one, is two different sides to Bloom as we know them. We’re pumped to hear the rest of the album unfold next month!
