District105 Debut ‘Sad Melody’ Featuring PK from Prompts

If you’re feeling a little lacklustre lately and need some new music to perk you up, we’ve got just the thing for you. This week, a cool new track has landed in our inbox and honestly, we just had to share it with the world.

Hailing from Saigon, Vietnam and inspired by the likes of Knocked Loose and Australia’s own Justice For The Damned, District105 self-describe themselves as a beatdown hardcore/metal act and have been around since 2017. They’ve just unleashed brand new single ‘Sad Melody‘ which is a neat collaboration with Japanese metalcore band Prompts.

Sad Melody‘ races in with a hectic riff and guttering vocals, courtesy of lead vocalist Huy Nguyen, who has a striking resemblance to Knocked Loose’s Bryan Garris. Sonically, this track is a two-step dream for circlepit enthusiasts everywhere.

“We reached out to PK because our vocalist has been a long-time fan of his band and we also felt like his voice is different compared to Huy in a good way, which definitely adds in another layer of emotion. This is an emotional song lyrically and we were super happy with what PK provided.”

The track itself carries with it a search for belonging and feeling safe. Being a metalcore band from Vietnam, we can’t imagine this is easy for the boys, but we highly commend them for sticking to their guns. As we’ve already witnessed from Japan with the likes of Crossfaith, Paledusk and Prompts, alongside Thailand act Annalynn, South East Asian metal is very quickly on the rise and in a league of their own.
