Ocean Grove Return to Sonic Roots on ‘Fly Away’

It’s been quite some time since we heard new material from Melbourne alternative act Ocean Grove, but that day has finally arrived. The boys are back and are far from relinquishing that nu-metal flavour they’ve got us hooked on.

Fly Away’ is a meticulous offering that sends it back to the band’s earlier days. Delivering a contrast of smooth guitar riffs tied together with hardened rap elements, vocalist Dale Tanner gives us a sense of apprehension but also a resurgence. It’s giving ‘Ask For The Anthem‘ and haven’t heard anything quite like this since 2019!

“We’re very pumped to be joining the SharpTone Records family. We feel more ready than ever to represent a label of their calibre and are so grateful for their confidence in us. In return, we hope to bring a fresh and unique sound to their roster as they take The Oddworld global.”

– Dale Tanner, Ocean Grove

Alongside this new era opening up, Ocean Grove have also founded their own record, ODDWORLD Records as well as a new label internationally in Sharptone Records. With this and a touring with Polaris across the Australian Outback this winter, this band of nu-metal misfits sound like they’re preparing to give fans their best shot yet.
