Two music icons, synonymous with pop punk since 2002, have teamed up for the ultimate nostalgia. Avril Lavigne and Simple Plan have unleashed their new collaboration, ‘Young & Dumb‘ and look we’re not biased or anything, but this track feeds our soul.

While the chorus does sound a little underwhelming initially, the verses are crafted in an edge that throws us straight back to when the two Canadian legends were just kids with big musical dreams. Listen once, then twice and in no time this little earworm is going to be the soundtrack to your better days.

Avril has been nonstop touring North America with the boys in Simple Plan, and the pop punk pair will make a stop on this year’s Vans Warped Tour in Washington DC this June. Meanwhile, Simple Plan are currently in Australia supporting The Offspring’s SUPERCHARGED tour.

However, the question on everyone’s mind: will Avril Lavigne be announcing a return Down Under in 2025/26? The Canadian pop punk princess hasn’t been to our shores since 2004 so an Aussie show is well overdue. While nothing has been teased or speculated as yet, we’re gonna start the rumour mill now, and hope she’s secured a headline slow on a certain Australian alternative/heavy music festival. Even better, a nationwide stadium tour would be every Australian pop punk fan’s wet dream. Keep those fingers crossed!
