US pop punk band Good Charlotte have woken us all up with massive excitement this week. Their eighth studio album, Motel Du Cap, is officially coming to your favourite streaming platform on 8 August.
Good Charlotte rose to fame in the early 2000s as one of the defining bands of the pop punk scene. With hits like ‘Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous‘ and ‘The Anthem‘, they captured the angst and energy of a generation, blending catchy hooks with rebellious lyrics. Their 2002 album The Young and the Hopeless was a breakthrough success, cementing their place in mainstream rock and earning them a loyal fanbase worldwide. Throughout the decades, they continued to evolve their sound while staying true to their punk roots, becoming icons of 2000s alternative music culture.
Fronted by celebrity rocker twins Benji and Joel Madden, the boys from Good Charlotte have been keeping things on the downlow music wise as they all looked to focus their time on other projects. Notably, frontman Joel has been dedicating much of his time towards interviewing fellow artists on his Artist Friendly podcast. Outside of this, he has been focused on nurturing other artists with brother Benji on their artist management label, MDDN.
Good Charlotte have not released an album since 2018’s Generation RX, which featured darker alt/rock track ‘Shadowboxer‘. Watch this space as we hear more about when the band’s first single from Motel Du Cap will drop.
