Now this is the I Prevail we continue to adore.
Following the division of fans after dropping high velocity track ‘Violent Nature‘, the Michigan rock outfit have delivered quite the contrast with follow up tune ‘Into Hell‘.
“This song is about loving someone through their lows and struggles. Being there to take their burdens. Loving them through everything because that’s what they do for you.”
– Eric Vanlergberghe, I Prevail vocalist
Alongside Eric’s haunting harmonies, which I must add, is a first for him, the song takes us on a steady journey of emotionally-driven guitars. Backed by guitarist Dylan Bowman, it’s a tune that does not stray too far from I Prevail’s signature sound. Instead, it slots effortlessly alongside past anthems like ‘Hurricane‘ and ‘Let Me Be Sad‘, both standouts from 2019’s Trauma. For longtime fans, ‘Into Hell‘ feels less like a departure and more like a natural evolution. It deepens I Prevail’s emotional canon without abandoning their roots.
