Yeah, this one hurts.
We hate being the bearer of bad news, but it looks like the festival curse has struck again. Park Waves Festival has officially confirmed that their upcoming Australian festival run will not be going ahead.
Promoters Destroy All Lines dropped the news on socials this afternoon and it’s pretty heartbreaking.
So, what happened?
It’s the same old story we’re seeing way too often lately. Despite trying absolutely everything to make it work, the financial reality just became too much.

In a super candid post, the organizers admitted they were “devastated” to pull the plug, noting that “ultimately, the numbers no longer stack up.”
“The cancellation is due to a combination of challenges,” the statement read. “With a heavy heart, we’ve had to make a difficult decision. We’ve tried everything. We’re gutted.”
The promoters have confirmed that all ticket prices and booking fees will be refunded, with details sent to ticket holders via email. But even with the money back, it’s a massive shame to see a new festival fold before it even had the chance to really kick off, especially when we know how hard the team behind the scenes works to get these things off the ground.
The statement signed off with a shoutout to everyone keeping the scene alive: “To everyone who keeps showing up for live music – thank you.”
It’s a rough time for the industry, so if you can, take that refund money and pour it back into a local gig or some merch for your favourite band. We’ll see you in the pit.
