With each new release, another complicated layer of Windwaker is unraveled. On latest single ‘Get Out‘, the band add playful alt/rock melodies that interject dynamically with their hyper-pop metal mentality.
“‘Get Out’ is about wanting someone (or something) out of your life and conscious thought,” the band offers. “It explores the discomfort of something negative returning to the present, and the consequences of staying in a relationship for longer than you should.”
– Windwaker
While still offering a strong anthemic chorus, vocalist Liam Guinane shows off his musical diversity with lyrical genuity which is often placed in southern hip hop roots. Like the band’s previous single ‘Break the Rules‘, Windwaker continues to put their feet where no other Aussie metalcore act has gone before and it’s an invigorating outlook for the scene from here. We back this stance hard and love seeing bands “breaking the rules” from the music status quo.
Windwaker will release their new album, HYPERVIOLENCE, on July 12 through Fearless Records. Pre-order here
