Magnolia Park are the Next Band on Disney’s A Whole New Sound

Words by Tamara May

US pop punk outfit Magnolia Park have announced that they will be featured on Disney’s newest pop punk venture, A Whole New Sound. The band have dropped their take on ‘I2I‘, taken from A Goofy Movie (1995).

If you’re not too familiar with the movie or haven’t watched in awhile, the track appears at the end where Goofy and his teenage son Max gatecrash Powerline’s performance in LA. While the movie version sounded a little simplistic and some may think it not as memorable as the other Powerline track, ‘Stand Out‘ at the beginning of the film, vocalist Joshua Roberts takes on ‘I2I‘ in a way that makes this track that high definition sound it truly deserves.

I2I‘ comes a few weeks after Simple Plan premiered their version on Elton John’s ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight‘ to celebrate 30 years of The Lion King. Between the two, we can see a common theme of showcasing love and empowerment across the world. We cannot wait to hear who else joins these two bands for what is going to be a great throwback to our youth.

Simple Plan’s Pierre Bouvier has also shared in an interview with Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden this week that Yellowcard, Boys Like Girls and We The Kings will also appear on the Disney Goes Pop Punk soundtrack.
